A PEOPLE’S jury has found an Almeria man guilty of stabbing a friend to death in 2008.
The trial lasted for three days, and has resulted in a reduced sentence of eight years in prison for manslaughter as it was considered that his mental faculties were diminished by his drug and alcohol addiction, as well as the fact that he had a mental disorder for which he was receiving psychiatric treatment.
He killed the 41-year-old victim in the entrance to his home after an argument which arose when the two were messing around with a water pistol and a walking stick. They had been drinking and taking drugs together just hours before.
