We were launch in 1999 in Torrevieja to try to reduce crime and vandalism in total collaboration with the Police Force. Our community security system is based on the Spanish Police Force & American/UK NHW system which are working together quiet nicely. We just report to the Police, like responsible citizens, any
suspicious situations that affect our communities. We
are not vigilantes, we do not patrol the roads, we don’t confront or intervene.
We have a Central Committee based in Torrevieja, voted
every year by the citizens, and we help other groups
any time they need us, and meet the Police and Guardia when necessary. Anyone can be a member, they do not need to belong to any group, but as member of our
communities, the Police need their help, ir would be nice if they report anything suspicious.

Given the statistic regarding personal assault, women are a greater risk. Therefore women who work at night are in a high risk group. Certainly every women should be concerned with their personal security and should carry some sort of protective device.
